Yesterday I went for a walk to enjoy the warm sunshine and cool spring air. Love it!
Unfortunately, only a few minutes into my walk I ended up with two wet feet. No, not because I stumbled into a melting snow puddle. But because my dog peed on me!
If you are wondering how this possibly happens, good question! I am pretty sure that my dog pulled out some sneaky ninja moves when I wasn’t looking.
Anyways, I was not so happy by this little turn of events and starting pouting as I trudged through the field.
It didn’t take me long to remember how I had been saying for months that it was time to replace my tennis shoes. I had yet to do so and settled for wearing my worn out old ones. I kept coming up with excuses to wait… I really didn’t need them right now. I should be saving my money for more important things. I should be investing my money in my business instead.
Well, this was my little sign from the universe that it is time. Time to stop putting off spending money on something that I really wanted.
As an entrepreneur, I have learned how important investing in my business is to my success. For way too long I flailed about, trying to figure everything out on my own and trying to spend as little as possible to get my business up and running.
I ended up spinning in circles.
After much frustration, I invested in the help I needed and was able get myself unstuck and building the business of my dreams. And I made my investment back in a short time!
A lot of us have big dreams for ourselves but we are afraid to invest the money in making those dreams happen. It comes back to deciding that we are going to make something happen no matter what and then taking the steps to follow through.
We are constantly sending out signals to the universe reflecting the thoughts we have about money and the things that we really desire for our lives.
By taking action to invest in the things you really want, you are sending the signal that you believe in yourself and your ability to make something happen.
Back to my shoes.
I no longer feel squeamish about investing in my business because I know it is well worth it! But it is equally important to reward ourselves for our successes…in life and business.
As a recovering perfectionist, I have a tendency to finish one thing and then jump onto the next without first celebrating my accomplishments. Celebrating may look like taking a trip, treating yourself to a massage, a dinner at your favorite restaurant, or a day of doing nothing but cuddling on the couch with a book…or new shoes!
Just make sure that you celebrate all that you accomplish, no matter how small. This keeps you motivated and sends signals to the universe to send more good things your way.
Invest in yourself and your dreams! And make sure you celebrate your success! You are worth it!
And if you don’t, someone may pee on you as a reminder.
Now I am off to the store for some new tennis shoes!
Lots of love,
Kristin
