When I was in elementary school, my mom insisted that I see a school therapist for being too much of a perfectionist.
My response was, ‘I just want to make sure things are done right, what is the big deal?’
When I was in chiropractic school, I took a ‘work personality’ assessment and the results said something along the lines of: you are good at following the rules and making sure things are done correctly.
Truly, I was rather appalled when I read that. Was I really that boring?
Those of us who are sensitive souls have a tendency to struggle with perfection…even more so than the rest of the population…and this is why:

  • We notice details that others miss
  • We are extra sensitive to judgment
  • We sense people’s emotions and moods
  • We have a tendency to know what other people expect or desire from us without them ever having to ask
  • We analyze things more than others
  • We take longer to process information and make decisions

When we don’t understand and appreciate our sensitive nature, it can become a shadow that keeps us stuck in perfectionism, procrastination, analysis paralysis, hiding, people pleasing and overworking.
However, when we acknowledge our sensitivity and work WITH our unique strengths, then the areas that we naturally excel in (such as creativity, empathy, intuition and spirituality) can shine brightly.
These strengths are what make us naturally powerful coaches, healers, teachers, spiritual leaders and artists.

Perfection is an illusion and those who seek perfection will find themselves unfulfilled their whole lives.

As a sensitive new coach, you may feel stuck with starting or moving forward with your business because you find that you get caught up in perfectionism. You are so afraid of making mistakes or failing that you never really give yourself a chance to get started.
You are on the quest for the perfect answers to questions, such as:

  • What should I call myself?
  • Who is my ideal client?
  • What makes me unique?
  • What should my web address be?
  • What is my tag line?

And because you are unsure of the perfect answer, you stay stuck in the same spot, spinning.
First of all, I want you to know that you are not alone in feeling this way. I’ve been there, I get it, and most of my clients feel this way before we begin working together too.
Second, I want you to know that as a sensitive and/or introverted entrepreneur, that you can be just as successful as everybody else.
Third, I want you to know that you can run your business and market in a way that works for you and FEELS GOOD to you, and that this is essential to being successful as a sensitive entrepreneur.
So yes, it is 100% possible to move through those shadows that are keeping you stuck and create a wildly successful business you love that allows your unique strengths as a sensitive soul to shine brightly.
