Saturday night we had the first full moon for spring and it was a lunar eclipse! The full moon brings energy and balance and is the perfect time to make changes in your life and set intentions.
 
To celebrate the full moon I made a list of my limiting beliefs and then set them on fire and let them go.

What limiting beliefs do you have that are holding you back in your life and business?
 
Do you have big dreams but find yourself forever waiting to pursue them because you:

  • don’t feel ready
  • don’t think you know enough yet
  • are afraid of failure
  • aren’t perfect
  • don’t know where to start
  • aren’t good enough

 
I hear these same fears over and over again from new health coaches and wellness entreprenuers.
 
And believe me, I understand each and every one of these limiting beliefs quite well because I have allowed them all to hold me back in the past.
 
They held me back not only in my career, but in my relationships, finances, health and spirituality.
 
The thing about limiting beliefs is that they are not true. They are based on one experience or thought that has been so worn into our brain that we accept it as a belief or truth.

It is much like a path in the woods. The path has been worn away from repeated use. This does not mean that this is the best path or the one ‘right’ path through the woods, but it is the path we choose because it is the easiest choice for us to follow.

This is how thought patterns work in the brain. Limiting beliefs such as “I’m not good enough” have a well worn path that our thoughts easily jump on. Our thoughts do this automatically without us ever having to think about it.
 
In order to put an end to limiting beliefs, you must consciously choose to stop following these thought patterns, and replace them with new thought patterns.
 
This is where affirmations come into play.
 
Take your limiting beliefs and switch them to positive affirmations that will serve you in your life and business.
 
For example: if your limiting belief is ‘I’m not good enough’ ask yourself good enough for what?
 
If the answer is starting your business, then perhaps your affirmation can be: I have all the power in me to create a successful coaching business.
 
Then put these affirmation somewhere you will see them throughout the day and continue to say them to yourself over and over again.
 
This is a great way to reprogram your thoughts to support you in your goals as you move forward.
 
If you notice yourself wandering down the old familiar path of ‘not good enough,’ just stop yourself and redirect to your new chosen path of ‘I am enough’.
 
Be patient with yourself and be consistent. Changing your thoughts takes persistence.
